First of all, how can something be full of bullshit, and at the same time be acurate? 
Sad but true, sometimes the translation is not understandable. BUT, on many occasions it produces understandable results. This is not an all-miracle solution, this is a tool that can sometimes help people not knowing the language understand a text written in a foreign language.
Of course, a lot more can be done, and we're working on it.
Now for the so-called sign up. Where did you see a sign up fee?
Our web site offers FREE online translation, and software has two modes of operation -- free, and activated (i.e. paid).
For the free mode, obviously, you don't have to pay anything, and you can translate texts less than 500 characters long. You can always chop a long text into 500-character-long pieces.
For the activated mode you have to pay ONCE 16 USD, and there is no limit on the size of the translation.
If you can, go hire somebody for 16 USD one-time fee.
